Presidium Annual Day 2012 dedicated to the TEACHERS!!Presidium, one of the best schools of the country celebrated its Annual day at Siri Fort Auditorium from 29th November to 2nd December. This event was dedicated in support of Sparsh, its NGO which works towards the welfare of the underprivileged.

Senior citizens celebrating life to the hiltA fun-filled cltural event "Sukriti" was organized by Varishth Nagrik Kesari Club (Model Town Branch) supported by Punjab Kesari for its members on October 13th at Art of Curry. It was a day full of excitement that enchanted everyone and brought smiles on the faces of the elders.

Sparsh Earns Huge Success at Prominent EventsSparsh received an overwhelming response at 'Wedding Asia 2012', a wedding extravaganza held in Park Plaza Hotel in Ludhiana. In order to promote its cause, Sparsh was allotted a complimentary stall at the event. Mr. Shobhan Soi, Franchise of Ludhiana Branch and his family was the great support in this event. Also, noteworthy contributions were made by staff members of Mother’s Pride. The stall showcased ‘Touch of Heaven’ products like Rakhi Thalies, Shagun Envelops, Clutches etc prepared by special children of Sparsh.

SPARSH acknowledgement at ’TEEJ UTSAV’Special children of ‘SPARSH’ participated in ‘Teej Utsav’ organized at Mehfil Banquet, GT Karnal Road, New Delhi on Saturday 21st July. The distinguished chief guests who graced the event were - Honorable Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Sheila Dixit; eminent social activist, Mrs Promila Kapil Sibbal & Member of Legislative Assembly, Mr Karan Singh.

Mother’s Pride Annual Day 2012, Dedicated to the Special children of SparshMother’s Pride organized a grand event marking the Annual Day celebration of the school in support of its NGO, Sparsh. The celebration took place from 17th February to 20th February at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi. The mega event was graced by eminent personalities including Amol Palekar, Renowned Actor & Director; Vinod Kambali, Former Indian Cricketer; Jagdish Mukhi, Member of Legislative Assembly and Aarti Mehra, Former Mayor, Delhi.

Sparsh celebrates World Disability Day New Delhi, December 3, 2011: World Disability Day is observed all across the globe to express solidarity with the disabled persons. The day gives an opportunity to spread awareness regarding the equal rights of the disabled in the society. Every year, this day is observed with a particular theme. For this year, it is “Together for a better world for all: Including persons with disabilities in development”.

Presidium Annual Day dedicated to Special Children of Sparsh

Annual Day dedicated to Special Children With the aim to support Sparsh, annual day of Presidium was celebrated with great enthusiasm and high spirits. It was organized on 18th, 19th and 20th of November at Siri Fort auditorium.

 



Special invite to Special Children

Punjab Kesari, a renowned hindi daily newspaper, organized an event “KESARI LITTLE STAR” motivating talented children to participate in various singing and dancing competitions. The event was organized at Talkotora Stadium on 15th Nov’2011.

Special Children- Our Future Athletes

To bring out¬ the sporty spirits, Children of Savera Special School participated in the Sports Meet organized by Special Olympics Bharat at Chhatrasal Stadium, Model Town on 3rd & 4th Nov, 2011. Around 15 children from Sparsh participated in different activities such as 50 & 100 mtr races, Bocce, etc. The event was organized to create enthusiasm and confidence amongst these special children.

Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan on 13th August

To awaken patriotic sentiment in Sparsh’s children, they were further taken to Rashtrapati Bhavan, where they met the honorable President Mrs Pratibha Patil who interacted with the children, tied Rakhis and gave a token of her love. The children were taken for a round inside the President house where they saw the massive set up including Mughal Garden, Museum, Royal kitchen, Dining Room for Dignitaries etc.

Sparsh children visit to Parliament House on 12th August

As an effort to familiarize the special children of Sparsh with feelings of nationalism and patriotism, a visit was organized to Parliament House to commemorate the occasion of Independence Day.

Sparsh makes its presence felt

It was action-packed week for Sparsh as lot of events ensued one after another. In collaboration with MGF Mega City mall, Sparsh had set up stalls at the Independence Day Children Fiesta on 5th and 6th of August showcasing its various products like touch of heaven, rakhi thalis, shagun envelops, clutches etc. Sparsh earned astounding response at the fiesta and enrolled members with the help of booklets and appeal letters. Also, badges were given to the visitors.

Sparsh's stalls were also set up at the DPS Rohini school and got an overwhelming response from the staff, students and parents present there. It was a three day event from 4th to 6th August coinciding with the PTM (parent-teacher meeting) in the school. All together, it was quite an eventful week for Sparsh.

 

Sparsh won hearts at Wedding Asia!

Sparsh got an overwhelming response at ‘Wedding Asia 2011’, a three-day wedding extravaganza held at Hotel Ashok in Delhi. Sensitized by the cause of Sparsh, The Excelsior, Organizers of ‘Wedding Asia 2011’, allotted a complimentary stall to Sparsh.

Save the Girl Child

We annually observe ‘Save the Girl Child Day’ with great enthusiasm. The teachers and students are sensitized about the fall in number of girl:boy ratio. They are encouraged to respect girls and give them equality of thought and expression.

The aim behind observing this day annually is generating awareness about female foeticide and its eradication. Every girl child is a blessing of God. We should love her, save her and respect her as she is the one who brings life on earth.

Certified First Aid Training to Staff Members

Understanding the importance of medical awareness, Mother’s Pride arranged to provide ‘Certified First Aid Training’ given by Red Cross for all its administrators, branch in-charges, management staff and security staff. Overall 32 employees participated and got Certified First Aid Training from Red Cross. We wish to integrate this as an on-going activity.

Blood Donation Camp

Protection of EnvironmentEvery 2 seconds, someone in the country is in need of blood. Every year our nation requires about 9 million units (90 lakh) of blood, out of which only an insufficient 5 million units (50 lakh) of blood is available from voluntary blood donations.

Sparsh and Rotary Club of Delhi together took the initiative and joined hands for the noble cause of blood donation. A special 1-day blood donation camp was organized to rally the community to donate blood at many branches of Mother’s Pride and at its senior secondary school Presidium in Ashok Vihar.

Athletic Meet on World Disability Day

AthleticThere are some heroes other than the big international sports players, who are talented but seldom get opportunities to exhibit their talent. These are mentally challenged children.

A mega Athletic Meet to celebrate the abilities and talents of mentally challenged children was organized by Sparsh, the NGO of Mother’s Pride & Bharat Special Olympics on 3rd Dec, 2009. The event took place on the special occasion of World Disability Day at Presidium School, Ashok Vihar Phase II, New Delhi.

Bal Mahotsav by W.E.A. Resident’s Welfare Forum

On 18th November, 2007, W.E.A. Resident’s Welfare Forum of Karol Bagh celebrated Bal Mahotsav on the occasion of Children’s Day, courtesy Mr.V. S. Sareen, Chairman, Mr. Rajesh Malhotra, President, Ms. Sobhana Menon, General Secretary and Ms. Neelam Verma. The forum gave four children from ‘Masti ki Pathshala’ namely, Sonali Singh, Rinky, Reena and Sagar a one time scholarship of Rs.1100 each. These kids are children of the maids of Punjabi Bagh branch whose education is funded by Masti Ki Pathshala.

Diwali Mela - For Special Talent of Special Children

The talent of special children of Savera Special School came to limelight in the Diwali Mela on 28th Oct. 2007, at Pitampura. The event was organised in association with Nirmal Dham Society. It was a fun-filled and eye opening event for everyone as these children put up stalls of incredible hand-made products made by them. Some of these included dry fruit containers, pen stand, wall hangings, flower pots of paper mashie, decorative candles, floating candles, decorative diyas, decorative terracotta made laxmi-ganesh murtis etc.

'We Care' Film Festival on Disability Issues

We CareMother’s Pride got associated with an international film festival with the purpose to propagate the rights of persons with disabilities. Having worked for mentally and physically challenged children for the past 7 years, Mother’s Pride organised this mega fest with the aim to win love and acceptance for these children from the community.

This was the 7th edition of ‘We Care’ Film fest held from February to May 2010. ‘Brotherhood’, in association with United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the National Trust and Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) organised the mega event. Based on the inspiring theme, ‘Celebrating Diversity’, the festival was unique in its nature as it had travelled 18 venues across India including Delhi.

Corporate Social Responsibility - The New Face of Corporate World

The powerful corporate world has all the power to play a constructive role for the society. To let the world know about the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized a CSR best practices meet on 1st December, 2007 at CII NR Headquarters, Chandigarh.
